The Obama Administration Chews the Fat

When the president announced that Michelle Obama would be heading up an anti-obesity task force last summer, most of us shrugged. Most presidents like to send their wives off on a health-related mission of some sort. Laura Bush worked closely with heart disease and breast cancer charities. Nancy Reagan lectured children on the dangers of drugs. Hillary Clinton tried to burn down the entire American health care system.
In retrospect, we probably should have been a little more concerned. In October, Mrs. Obama confessed that, as recently as two years ago, Sasha's and Malia's meals had been chock full of fast food and pizza. When the Obama family pediatrician told Michelle that this wasn't doing her daughters' health any favors, the First Lady's jaw hit the table. "I was shocked," she said.
The same woman who was floored by the news that Wendy's Baconators are unhealthy was assigned to spearhead the government's anti-obesity policies. That probably should have set off a few alarm bells.

The Return of the King

The night ObamaCare passed, Nancy Pelosi bragged about how the Democrats in Washington were fulfilling the words of the founders as expressed in the Declaration of Independence. I wholeheartedly agree with her, though undoubtedly for different reasons.
After reading a thought-provoking column from Human Events author Connie Hair (one in which she highlighted a few of my forthcoming examples), I was inspired to read back through the commonly ignored portion of that pivotal document – the list of grievances against the King of England. We typically regard this section as a recitation of complaints germane to the late 1700s, not something that's pertinent today. But as Hair points out, tyranny is timeless. Look at the words and see for yourself:
"He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures."
ObamaCare creates 100 new bureaucracies through which all of your personal health decisions, costs, payments, and approval will be facilitated and managed. Wish to complain? Take a number and have a seat.
"He has erected a multitude of New Offices..."
The Obama administration has named at least 32 unelected czars...and counting.
"...and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people and eat out their substance."
Currently, the Justice and Education Departments are sending out hordes of new attorneys to begin an aggressive crackdown on what they deem "civil rights violations." Meanwhile, with the passage of ObamaCare, the IRS is in the process of hiring at least 17,000 new stooges to find ways to fine and penalize people and businesses for their lack of compliance.
"He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation."
Just days after the inauguration, Obama's administration gave signals that it was considering a move to place the United States under the authority of the International Criminal Court (allowing foreign governments to try Americans for what they consider "atrocity crimes"). And let's not forget Obama's determination to subject us all to some asinine international climate legislation.
"For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent."
Despite knowing that three-fourths of Americans opposed it, the Democrats pushed through a healthcare plan that will result in a truckload of new taxes. And Obama specifically campaigned against many of the very provisions his healthcare bill creates – in other words, even those who voted for him didn't consent to this.
"Obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners..."
Up next for the Democrats in Washington: providing a path to citizenship for foreigners who have broken the laws of immigration and naturalization, thereby punishing those who have patiently and faithfully sought citizenship.
"He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries."
Okay, maybe not judges. But how much worse is it that after erasing decades of law that established debtor rights, Obama's administration has made huge portions of the auto and banking industries completely dependent upon his will for their tenure and salary?
"He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies..."
Though it hasn't yet been realized, here's Barack Obama from July of 2008: "We cannot continue to rely on our military....We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded."
"Altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments. For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever."
From healthcare to education reform, the Democrats in Washington are committed to usurping power that was never intended for the national government, and instead reserved to the states. By doing so, they fundamentally reshape the nature of our government to one the Constitution does not prescribe.
"In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury."
Could there be more perfect words to describe the feelings of millions of angry constituents who wrote, called, faxed, and begged their Congressmen to oppose ObamaCare?
The effort towards authoritarian control is timeless. Does this mean it's time for armed resistance? Of course not. But it does mean that Americans should wisely recognize the uncomfortable reality that our government is increasingly coming to resemble not the kind our Founders established, but the one they pledged their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor to war against.

Racism and ObamaCare

Like chewing gum stuck to the heel of your shoe, racism seems to be stuck forever to American public discourse. No matter what we do or what happens, somebody will find a racial motive.
Democrats have passed government healthcare with no Republican votes. Their leadership threatened and bribed their own members to eek out a majority. They resorted to an arcane procedure that maybe 100 people in the whole country can explain in order to pass a massive bill that polls show a majority of Americans don't want.
The federal government, for the first time ever, will force every American to buy, with a big chunk of their income, a product designed by government bureaucrats, with an army of IRS agents snooping on each of us to make sure we did it.
And how are many liberals explaining why so many Americans are ticked off?
It's because our president is black. It's about racism.
Even me. I'm steamed. And even though I happen to be black – I've even spoken at some Tea Party rallies – I still must be a racist.
Obama's approval rating has dropped from 70 percent when he was elected to 50 percent today. His disapproval has skyrocketed from 10 percent when he was elected to 42 percent today.
Per the Washington Post, in January 2009 58 percent of Americans said that the Obama presidency helped race relations. By January 2010, this was down to 40 percent.
Has this wave of disillusionment with Obama been driven by a sudden realization that the man Americans elected president is black?
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's approval has dropped from 41 percent in January 2009 to 36 percent today and her disapproval has risen from 42 percent to 54 percent. Is she black?
Were the raucous townhalls last summer – which gave birth to the Tea Party movement – where irate constituents gave their representatives a piece of their mind about ObamaCare, racially motivated?
Care to understand what all this is really about?
Consider a powerful observation about a former time by one of America's great historians, Jacques Barzun. Barzun was a professor and dean at Columbia University and a Presidential Medal of Freedom winner.
"We make a great mistake in calling the American War of Independence, the 'American Revolution,'" he wrote. "In 1776 the Americans rebelled against recent rules and impositions. What they wanted was not a new type of government, but the old type they enjoyed. They were used to many freedoms, which they claimed as the immemorial rights of Englishmen. Once they defeated the English armies and expelled the Loyalists, they went back to their former ways, which they modestly enlarged, and codified in the Bill of Rights."
In a similar fashion today, Americans are rebelling as the freedom we have enjoyed, freedom which defines life in this country, is being taken away and new "rules and impositions" are being imposed.
It's not about theory or some abstract ideology. The intense feelings flow from losing what you have and what you know is vital.
What is new today is we can no longer continue the illusion of having our cake and eating it. We can no longer afford to be both a big government entitlement state and a free, creative, and prosperous nation. It's the prosperity created by our freedom that has financed the entitlements. But now the entitlements are overtaking and strangling our freedom.
So now is a time of choosing. We're either going to remain the land of the free or transform into the land of the bureaucrat.
The antipathy of activists toward Mr. Obama is not about how he looks but what he has done. That he has chosen and imposed on us the path of bureaucracy.

Obama Wants His Private Army

Of course, SEC. 430, Establishing a Ready Reserve Corps. lists in detail the commissioned Regular Corps and Ready Reserve Corps that will be trained up, fired up, lined up and controlled by Obama himself. Naturally the purpose for this army is to stand by in case they are needed at short notice for a national health emergency or emergency response missions.
The health bill talks specifically about their routine training, appointment by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate, and other details of service.
The bottom line after reading the details of this section, is that Obama now will have his private army he always wanted. As Saul Alinsky or Hitler would teach, hide behind an expectable issue. Shine a bright light over here so you can walk forward with your agenda over there.
It is about a Health emergency….isn’t that ok?
In the history of our country, have we ever had such a massive, national health emergency that we needed a militia/military reserve ready to pepper the country and control things? No!!!
Katrina…..there was the blue cross, FEMA, the National Guard, local police, charities, congress and other leadership responding to this disaster. Mayor Ray Nagin and FEMA got much criticism about their organization and response time, but that seems to be typical with any disaster, be it tornado, attack or hurricane. Organization and pace can always improve. New Orleans needed a ton of things, not, a military force trumping and smothering the naturally, already in force health and enforcement channels.
The last flu season……I followed the H1N1 Swine flu drama from beginning to end. I was amazed as to how a normal flu season, even milder at times than most other flu seasons, (according to CDCs own tracking data on their web site) was described as practically a nuclear bomb on America’s people and children. There was ridiculous talk of forced inoculations, yet real science pointing out (I talked with a few of the research scientists on my show) the danger and lack of real study with the vaccines. Many later and serious health problems were linked to some of the dirty ingredients in the vaccine. This was at the very least a horribly manipulated event.
With the messiah now with a ‘health’ militia, will the next flu season be an even larger crises causing FORCED vaccinations for the good of the community, family and country? Wouldn’t it be special, a Stepford wives, ACORN type Obamaton showing up at your door with a forced injection or else. What a wonderful opportunity to manipulate a flue season for a premiere, national emergency, thus declaring Marshal law……oh yeah, being directed by Obama’s civilian militia.
The purpose in the Health care bill is listed as ‘routine public health and emergency response missions.’
As usual, the description is vague and blurry enough that one wonders just what ‘routine public health’ issues are. Remember Obama’s passion for abortion. Some of his czars are abortion heroes. John Holdren (Science Czar) even wrote about it being appropriate having ‘forced abortions’ and aborting a child up to age 2. How do you do that since they have been alive for 2 years? Do you push them in front of a train or mercifully inject them with poison?
Could this President some day declare a national population growth emergency and certain/controlled criteria for having children, thus forcing abortions with some or worse? He already has a sea of radical, abortion and control loving Stepford wives as his czars! I pray and hope that something this absurd will never happen in America but with Obama’s actions and associations thus far…..watch very closely.
Another national emergency, needing Obama’s ‘health’ militia could be his troops coming to get our guns if we didn’t turn them in one day. Of course, this again would be required of the people due to a contrived crises such as extreme growth of crime, terrorism or hiding behind a treaty of ‘gun control’ with the UN, thus having to enforce it.
Some of you think I’m a loon and a tin helmet hussy…..but consider this. Hitler did the very same thing. First he got elected in through seduction, lies and false promises. The Nazis had blown up the German Government headquarters already to blame the communists so they could have the desperate people give up their guns when they demanded them.
Hitler created a huge fan base and distracted public. Once Hitler’s Enabling act was voted in, he quickly got total control over health care and the records. Mentally ill and physically challenged kids and adults disappeared to ‘job and skill training camps’ where they were murdered. Hitler trashed and took out all religious symbols from the schools and work places, instituting Hitler’s photos everywhere and a required national greeting ‘Heil Hitler’ (Hail my leader). It was the instituted control of a nation and worship of Hitler. Obama also wants our worship and now he has a civilian military………….for crises of course.
We must hold our Government accountable and not allow ourselves to be taken over. We can’t support violence in anyway but we must not be seduced when dictator type behavior is everywhere. Focus behind the conservative, freedom loving candidate in your city and state! Do more than talk over coffee. You need to organize, call, fax, march if need be and campaign. We know that there will be voter fraud and manipulation like never before in November. All conservatives and concerned citizens MUST vote this time. Don’t fall into the self talk of ‘my vote won’t count anyway.’ If you don’t vote with your attitude and all, the dead person and illegal alien down the street will. Others will vote 20 times. If we ALL vote we will win and correct this nightmare.
The way for us to secure our country is not to forget what has happened to the American people already with this unconstitutional Health care bill, the destructive, Cap and Trade bill being backed by fraudulent science, and the push for amnesty for illegal aliens and their coveted votes. It is not imagined. It is not extreme right wing talk. It is real. We have voted in a tyrannical, socialist control freak who will continue to take control if we let him.
We must not play into Obama’s hands. No violence…..obey the law and no threatening except to impeach, repeal, sue, march and vote him and this liberal congress out of office as soon as possible. We then start the business of neutering, correcting and fixing our abused country, freedom and law!

A columnist for the Boston Globe believes that unless President Obama makes some changes to his political agenda quickly, his party will experience a "bloodbath" in November.
Jeff Jacoby at the Boston Globe says Republican Scott Brown's convincing victory Tuesday for the U.S. Senate makes it clear that even in the "bluest of Blue states," no political seat is guaranteed forever. He says Democrats in Washington are now forced to realize that they too could be challenged and potentially dislodged from office.
"This wasn't as much a Republican victory as it was, I think, a backlash against Democrats and against a style of governance that President Obama and Democratic leaders in Congress have been pushing very hard and in a very partisan way over the past year," states the columnist. Jacoby writes in a new column that Democrat Martha Coakley's loss in the special Senate election in Massachusetts may actually be a blessing in disguise for President Obama.
"I think that this is a chance for him to think very hard about the way he has governed so far and to read the writing on the wall," he suggests, "and to recognize that unless he wants his party to go through a bloodbath in the mid-term elections this November, he needs to make some changes -- and he needs to make them quickly. If he does that, then I think that the brightest days of the Obama administration may still be to come."
According to Gallup, no president beginning his second year in the White House has been as unpopular as Obama currently is. The polling group sees "obvious political peril" for the president in decreasing public approval.
"When presidents' approval ratings have been below 50 percent in a midterm election year, their party has tended to suffer heavier seat losses," states a Gallup report.
After averaging a 57-percent job approval rating during his first year in office, recent numbers (Oct. 20, 2009 - Jan. 19, 2010) have generally hovered around the 50-percent mark, notes Gallup.

The Parent's Responsibility
It has been rare lately for me to take the time to put my own thoughts into words. There are so many other bright, intelligent people putting into words similar thoughts as mine that frequently I hear myself saying, “Let’s not reinvent the wheel.” This time however, I don’t seem to find many people, if any, communicating these thoughts, so I felt led to make this point myself.
During one of our recent Summits [www.AIPNews.com], I heard some interesting discussion about how to impart the importance and worth of restoring our republic. As a former classroom teacher, I understand the desire to impart the Truth to my students and plant seeds that would hopefully grow with more cultivating.
I realized the problem with this belief after God gave us a child to parent. After studying the Word, I realized that the responsibility of educating our daughter was laid directly on the shoulders of my husband and me. And regardless of how much I search, no where do I see that mantle of responsibility removed in Scripture. Even if I didn’t believe “Sola Scriptura,” the fact that the socialist agenda has been encroaching on this right and responsibility for years should prove the point. Years? Actually more like over a century.
“The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother's care, shall be in state institutions at state expense.” Didn’t we hear Obama say this? Probably. But this quote is actually from Karl Marx himself. And slowly (or not so slowly) the Christians in the United States have been poisoned with this belief. So, off the women go into the workforce and men resign their responsibility of father to a “step” or to no one at all; both treating the “blessings” of God as curses. They turn their children over to government storage facilities. Parents are told that they are not capable of training their children. After all, “The teacher is engaged not simply in the training of individuals, but in the formation of the proper social life.... In this way, the teacher always is the prophet of the true God and the usherer-in of the true Kingdom of God” or so says a famous father of modern education, John Dewey.
“But wait,” say many unsuspecting parents, “we send them to school for an education.” That may be your goal but don’t assume it’s the educational system’s goal. The public education system’s goal is not individual education but communal indoctrination. As John Dewey stated, “Children who know how to think for themselves spoil the harmony of the collective society which is coming where everyone is interdependent.”
While I know that many individual teachers have a wonderful heart for children, what teachers are being taught and given to teach does not provide the worldview some of us hold. Even as I sat in my Science Methods class at a Catholic college, I was instructed to teach evolution. But while there are some teachers who attempt to swim against the tide, most do not or have been too corrupted by the system already themselves to realize they are part of the tide. For instance, as I sat in my Philosophy and History of Education class at the same college, I was the only person in the room who believed in absolutes. Not even our instructor believed in absolutes. If this is the mindset of the majority of those teaching, how can much good come out of it?
Correction. How much good could come out of it for those of us who hold to our conservative, Christian beliefs? There is a lot of good to come out of it for those following and fostering a socialist agenda. If not, why else would Lenin boldly state, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” If he knew that could happen after only four years, what about our American posterity that has been abandoned to the enemy for twelve or more years? Is it any wonder then Saul Alinsky taught in his book Rules for Radicals the need for “community organizers” to reach out and train the youth? Is it surprising to find that the well-known “community organizer” not only was praised by Alinsky’s son after the Democratic National Convention for how well Obama had used his father’s model, but he also made sure to teach those principles to students and such groups as ACORN.
It should be no surprise, then, when we learn that Obama is planning to speak to the nation’s students this coming Tuesday. Not only is he speaking, but providing teachers with the correct propaganda material otherwise called “classroom activities.” After all, as Neal McCluskey of the Cato Institute noted, “In his letter, Duncan [Secretary of Education] asserts that the work of educators is ‘critical to…our social progress.’” Sound familiar?
And it is no coincidence that not only will Obama speak, but follow-up materials are provided because after all, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth,” or so believed Lenin.
Many may feel that my thoughts concerning the weight of education lying on the shoulders of the parents is outmoded or even wrong. That is fine. But if you are a Constitutional conservative, you may want to reconsider. After all, nowhere within the explicit powers given to the federal government is education mentioned. We cannot pick and choose which powers usurped by the federal government should be extinguished making sure to leave only the ones that are convenient for us to keep.
So in the end, it is the family who should reclaim our right and responsibility to teach our children in all things including the very important role as citizens of a republic. I agree with the “Prince of Preachers,” Charles Spurgeon, who stated, “The best education is education in the best things.”

While my first passion (and formal training) is in theology and philosophy, I do love following politics. For balance, I regularly read the HuffingtonPost.com (liberal) Townhall.com (conservative) and watch CNN and Fox News to try and get multiple sides of every issue. For the past couple weeks, I've decided to pay even closer attention to the words of President Obama. In doing so, I'm amazed at how many times he directly contradicts himself. Yet what's more amazing is that the mainstream media doesn't pick up on these. Consider a few…
President Obama: Can we emphasize your Muslim roots or not? During the presidential campaign you strongly downplayed your Islamic background (strong criticism was leveled at those who included your middle name "Hussein.") Yet in your recent speech in Cairo you emphasized your background and sympathy for Islam. In fact, you boasted of having "known Islam on three continents." Which is it? And how far does your sympathy for Islam go? Why did you speak out immediately against the killing of Dr. Tiller, but were very slow in response to the murder at the recruiting office by an American Muslim?
President Obama: Are you a Christian, or not? You have claimed to be a Christian, and I give you the benefit of the doubt (as I would anyone else). Something you said recently, however, raised some concern. In your Cairo speech you said you look forward to the day, "…when Jerusalem is a secure and lasting home for Jews and Christians and Muslims, and a place for all of the children of Abraham to mingle peacefully together as in the story of Isra, when Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed (peace be upon them) joined in prayer." The term "peace be upon them" is used by Muslims to bless deceased holy men. According to Islam, Moses, Jesus, and Mohammed are dead prophets. Yet, of course, to Christians Jesus is the living and immortal Son of God. You may think I am making too big of a deal about this, but remember, you have recently claimed to be deeply versed in Islam.[i]
President Obama: Will you step down from your presidency, since your race is being used as a recruiting tool for white supremacist groups? Last night CNN had a program about the recent barrage of "hate" crimes (the death of Dr. Tiller, the murder at the Holocaust museum, and the killing of the military recruiter by an American Muslim). A CNN expert pointed out that Barack Obama's presidency, since he is an African-American, is being used as a recruiting tool for white supremacist groups and that there will likely be a significant increase in such attacks. Given that your primary justification for shutting down Guantanamo is that it is being used as a recruiting tool for terrorists, will you step down as president for the sake of consistency? You seem like a team player, so why not take one for the team? I actually don't think you should step down. You won fairly and deserve the right to serve your term(s). But is consistency too much to ask?
President Obama: Are you against nations working unilaterally or not? In a recent speech to international leaders you said that no individual nation should work alone-it must work in partnership with other nations. However, you also recently told Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu that Israel needs to stop building settlements in the West Bank, as the U.S. would not tolerate such actions. Your Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, chimed in, calling for a "stop to settlements-not some settlements, not outposts, not natural growth exceptions" from Israel in the West Bank (The Week, June 12, 2009, p. 21). In other words, Clinton is making unique demands that apply solely to Israel. Please clarify, for there seems to be a contradiction. If you are against nations making individual demands, then how can you level unilateral criticism at Israel? Are you reserving special condemnation for Israel that you won't extend to Muslim nations? Sure, many Islamic nations would support your criticism of Israel, but that was not your justification.
It's amazing to me that the mainstream media doesn't pick up on these contradictions (except Sean Hannity picked up on the first one). Why not? The only explanation I can think of is its liberal bias. Check out http://www.mrc.org/SpecialReports/2009/100Days/100DaysExecSum.asp for some recent stats that clearly show the media's bias towards Obama. If anyone has another explanation, I would love to hear it.
David Letterman recently said that he doesn't make jokes of Obama because he doesn't provide any good material. Is he serious? This is hard to believe, especially since Obama claimed there are 57 states and also made derogatory comments about the Special Olympics. The media love for Obama is absolutely astonishing. It was best summed up by Newsweek editor Evan Thomas in an interview on MSNBC: "I mean in a way Obama's standing above the country, above – above the world, he's sort of God
